Our Process
Plastic. People. Purpose.
Every bag at volume is built with intention — from what we source to who we work with, how we make it, and why it matters.

1. It Starts With Waste
We collect discarded plastic wrappers and polythene bags from waste management NGOs and ragpicker associations — materials that would otherwise choke landfills or float forgotten in drains and oceans. This isn’t just waste — it’s raw potential.

2. Cleaning & Sanitizing
We collect discarded plastic wrappers and polythene bags from waste management NGOs and ragpicker associations — materials that would otherwise choke landfills or float forgotten in drains and oceans. This isn’t just waste — it’s raw potential.

3. Handcrafted into Fabric
We don’t melt or chemically treat the plastic. Instead, we shred and layer it, then weave it using traditional handloom techniques — a process that gives the plastic a new texture and life, while honouring artisanal craft.

4. Designed With Soul
Each product is thoughtfully designed — not just for function, but for identity. That’s why our bags have names, personalities, and stories. From Kissa to Ilaichi, every piece is a character in the chapter we’re writing together.

5. Made by People, Not Machines
We work with skilled artisans and women from underserved communities to stitch, line, and finish every bag by hand. In doing so, we create employment, dignity, and a more human pace of fashion.

6. Packaged Lightly, Shipped Kindly
Each bag is packed using minimal, plastic-free materials. When you receive a Volume product, you’re not just getting a bag — you’re holding a story stitched with care, impact, and conscience.
Because what you carry should carry meaning.
This is how we turn plastic into purpose — and fashion into a force for good.
Impact by the Numbers
The real story behind every Volume bag.
Each product upcycles 15–40 pieces of plastic waste — like discarded wrappers and polythene bags — that would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans.
By eliminating plastic burning and industrial processing, every bag prevents 400–800g of CO₂ emissions — equivalent to driving a car for 3–5 kilometers.
No electricity. No chemicals. Just hands, heart, and heritage. Every fabric is handwoven on a traditional loom and then hand-stitched by women artisans.
We generate income opportunities for first-generation earners, mostly women from underserved communities, giving them financial independence and creative dignity.
We repurpose even the tiniest leftover scraps into small accessories like pouches, wallets, and keychains — ensuring no part of the fabric goes to waste.
Every purchase supports:
- Sustainable fashion
- Ethical production
- Circular economy models
- Conscious consumerism
Volume isn’t just a product — it’s a ripple effect.
Small bag. Big impact.
