What you carry matters.

Volume is a slow fashion brand born out of a simple belief — what we carry should reflect what we care about.
We craft handbags and utility products from waste plastic wrappers and polythene bags, turning yesterday’s trash into tomorrow’s essentials. Every product we make is handwoven using traditional techniques, each thread carrying a story of revival — of material, craft, and community.
Volume isn’t just a brand. It’s a voice — for conscious consumption, for thoughtful design, for people and the planet.

Waste Diverted
Each product upcycles 15–40 pieces of plastic waste — like discarded wrappers and polythene bags — that would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans.

Founded with the intention to bring sustainability into everyday fashion, Volume partners with waste management NGOs and ragpicker communities to source plastic waste. This waste is cleaned, sanitized, and transformed into fabric using handlooms — giving not only plastic a second life, but also preserving the dignity of the hands that weave it.

Our first chapter — Volume 1: Beginnings — introduces a line of playful, personal products named like people you know and love. From Kissa to Orion, each piece has its own identity and energy. This is just the beginning of our storytelling — every collection is a chapter, and every chapter builds the book of Volume.

We are here to turn the Volume up on what really matters: sustainability, beauty in the everyday, and a future that’s kinder.
Carry less noise. Carry more meaning.

Hear from the Founder

Volume was born from a deep sense of responsibility, a love for craft, and a question that kept echoing in my mind: What are we really carrying — on our shoulders, in our habits, and for the planet?
Like many of us, I grew up surrounded by plastic. It was everywhere — in our homes, streets, oceans, and eventually, in our conscience. I wanted to do something about it. Not just to reduce waste, but to reimagine it.
At Volume, we transform discarded plastic wrappers and bags into beautiful, handwoven handbags — not in factories, but on traditional looms, without electricity or chemicals. Every product is made with intention and respect — for the material, for the artisan, and for the environment.
This isn’t just a brand. It’s a growing community of people who believe that small actions can lead to meaningful change — and that what you carry should reflect what you stand for.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for carrying consciously.

Why Volume?

We chose the name Volume because it speaks on many levels — just like the stories we carry.

At its surface, Volume is about space. The capacity to hold — ideas, essentials, memories. But look closer, and it’s also about voice. About turning up the sound on the things that matter. About amplifying the everyday stories of waste, craft, and identity that often go unheard.

Every bag we make holds more than just things. It holds history — of plastic wrappers once discarded. It holds intention — to choose better. And it holds Volume — in its quiet rebellion against fast fashion, in the conversations it starts, and in the way it dares to blend beauty with purpose.
Volume is not just a name. It’s a reminder:
What you carry matters.
Whether it’s your belongings, your values, or your voice.

Our Materials

Giving Waste a Second Life, Beautifully.

At volume, we believe that waste is not the end of a story — it’s the beginning of a new one.
Our bags are handcrafted from upcycled plastic waste — think discarded wrappers, polythene bags, packaging materials that would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans.
Instead of letting this waste become invisible pollution, we collect, clean, and transform it into something durable, beautiful, and useful.

Materials We Love Working With:

Upcycled plastic wrappers & polythene bags

Recycled cotton lining (where possible)

Reused hardware & sustainable accessories

Minimal virgin materials — only where structurally essential

Our Process

Plastic. People. Purpose.

Every bag at volume is built with intention — from what we source to who we work with, how we make it, and why it matters.

It Starts With Waste

We collect discarded plastic wrappers and polythene bags from waste management NGOs and ragpicker associations — materials that would otherwise choke landfills or float forgotten in drains and oceans. This isn’t just waste — it’s raw potential.

Cleaning & Sanitizing

The plastic is thoroughly cleaned, dried, and sanitized through a careful, multi-stage process. We ensure it's safe to touch, durable to use, and ready to be transformed.

Handcrafted into Fabric

We don’t melt or chemically treat the plastic. Instead, we shred and layer it, then weave it using traditional handloom techniques — a process that gives the plastic a new texture and life, while honoring artisanal craft.

Designed With Soul

Each product is thoughtfully designed — not just for function, but for identity. That’s why our bags have names, personalities, and stories. From Kissa to Ilaichi, every piece is a character in the chapter we’re writing together.

Made by People, Not Machines

We work with skilled artisans and women from underserved communities to stitch, line, and finish every bag by hand. In doing so, we create employment, dignity, and a more human pace of fashion.

Packaged Lightly, Shipped Kindly

Each bag is packed using minimal, plastic-free materials. When you receive a volume product, you’re not just getting a bag — you’re holding a story stitched with care, impact, and conscience.

Because what you carry should carry meaning.

This is how we turn plastic into purpose — and fashion into a force for good.
